How Can You Join?
To be eligible to join Alpha Sigma Zeta, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be matriculated at OCC;
- Have completed at least 15 credits of coursework leading to an associate degree program (part-time students may be eligible);
- Must have a grade point average of 3.7 or better;
- Must enjoy full rights of citizenship in your country.
- Must complete the application process before the deadline.

Benefits of Joining
From a social aspect, being a member of PTK (among other things) is great if you'd like to meet new people or partake in intelligent discussions with a broad spectrum of people. Also, because of its active membership, Phi Theta Kappa is an asset to the community by its various service projects.
Members of Phi Theta Kappa are also eligible for scholarships at many four-year institutions. Most of these scholarships are non-competitive, which means that you'll automatically receive them when you are admitted to that college! Additionally, being a member of PTK is a great thing to put on resumes.
